Top tourism destinations in Da Lat

Da lat City is located on the Langbian Plateau in the southern part of the Central Highlands region, about 1,500 m (4,900 ft) above sea level. It is a popular tourist destination with many attractive sites.

Following are the top ten destinations in the city:

Domaine De Marie or Cherry Church was built in 1938 on a high hill surounded by blossoming cherry trees, around 1km southwest of the city centre. Its design harmoniously combined the 17th century French style with that of the stilted houses of the central highland ethnic minorities. It has no bell tower and its façade is characterized by an isosceles triangle with small arched windows and a central rose-shaped window. Its most prominent feature is a three-meter high statue of the Virgin Mary standing on a globe, which weighs approximately one tonne.
The Valley of Love is around 6km northeast of the city centre. In 1930, the French named the green and romantic valley “Vallé d’Amour” (“Thung Lng Tình Yêu” in Vietnamese and “Valley of Love” in English). In the reign of King Bao Dai, the region was called the Valley of Peace. Since 1953, it has recovered the name of Valley of Love until today.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda, also called Ve Chai Pagoda, was built of debris of glass, pottery bowls and porcelain between 1949 and 1952 in a remote residential area of Da Lat City.
Truc Lam Zen Monastery is around 5km from the city centre and is one of the three largest monasteries in Vietnam.
Lang Biang Mountain is built on a height of 2,167m above sea level in Lac Duong town, about 12km north of the city centre.
